Like the proverbial Oak tree,

"Music for Health"

has grown from an acorn of a concept to a nationwide 'family' of people, - with branches throughout the country making a difference to the lives of those who find themselves in residential care.

On this Site you will find information about the "Music for Health" organisation, how it started, what inspired its conception, what it accomplishes, and how.

Meet the Founders, David & Helen, also the Local Directors who look after their own areas and the people who benefit most, the residents of Care & Nursing Homes throughout the country who enjoy the therapeutic, interactive, music based workshops that are regularly the highlight of their lives including those with Dementia..

You may also discover that your own care and concern for the well-being of those in such homes could introduce you to an opportunity to take on the mantle of a 'Local Director' allowing you to help others while earning an additional income at the same time. There are still some areas in the UK that are not yet benefitting from this unique program.

Did You Know ..................?

Greek Physicians were prescribing Music Therapy for their patients over 2000 years ago! Music is recognized as being a key benefactor in the treatment of Depression. A famous Biblical Composer/Musician used Music to help soothe a Kings low mood. (David, who eventually became King himself). That it is not just the 'sound of Music' that is beneficial, but that the tempo, style and even the vibration can have great effect on us. Thousands of people have had their quality of life enhanced dramatically by the introduction of Music for Health Workshops. Music may well be a means of helping those with Dementia. That Music for Health is the only organisation currently supplying unique Music based Interactive Holistic Workshops to Rest Homes, Nursing Homes, E.M.I. Homes and Homes for Adults with Learning Difficulties, in the UK.That there are still opportunities for caring people to take part in this nationwide programme.
